Please note that our studio will be closed during the following period for the year-end and New Year holidays.

Holiday Closure:

【The 2nd Japan-China Friendship International Art Exhibition】

 

The 2nd Japan-China Friendship International Art Exhibition, “Blooming Along the Silk Road — Resonance & Future,” will be held from Tuesday, July 7 to Sunday, July 12, 2026.

The exhibition will take place at Gallery F on the 2nd floor of the Fukuoka Art Museum, and the opening hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

【Online Calligraphy (Chinese Calligraphy) Lessons】

We are pleased to offer online lessons in authentic calligraphy (Chinese calligraphy) and seal carving, allowing you to learn from the comfort of your own home.

Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced practitioner, our lessons are tailored to your individual skill level, with careful and personalized instruction.

With weekly lessons and a small-group format, you can take your time, learn at your own pace, and deepen your understanding of calligraphy and seal carving.

<Target Age Group>   

Junior high school students and adults (from beginners to experienced learners)

<Lesson Schedule>     

Sundays: 8:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
(Depending on the circumstances, lessons may be extended until 10:30 p.m. at the latest.)
Lesson time includes preparation and a short break.

Lessons are generally held once a week, with each lesson lasting approximately 90 minutes (4–5 lessons per month).

Make-up lessons may also be offered on Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (until noon at the latest).

One course cycle consists of 10 weekly lessons. Each cycle is valid for 6 months from the date of the first lesson.

<Lesson Fees>

Enrollment Fee: ¥6,000
Annual Membership Fee: ¥5,000


〔Beginner Course〕One course cycle (10 lessons): ¥30,000
(Approximately 2.5 months)

〔Intermediate Course〕One course cycle (10 lessons): ¥50,000
For students who have previous experience at our studio or another calligraphy school. Placement will be determined based on the student’s skill level.

〔Perfect Attendance Reward〕
Students who attend all 10 lessons without missing a single class will receive one complimentary lesson.

〔Trial Lesson〕
If the schedule works for you, we warmly invite you to consider joining a trial lesson on one of the dates listed above.
The trial lesson lasts approximately 20 minutes.

If you decide to enroll on the day of your trial lesson and pay all or part of the course fee via PayPay, bank transfer, or Japan Post Bank transfer, the enrollment fee will be waived.

Many of our current online students have shared that, through instruction based on the principles of Chinese calligraphy, each lesson brings new discoveries and provides a meaningful opportunity to calm and center the mind.

【Now Available: Gyoshindo-Selected Calligraphy Brushes】

Gyoshindo currently offers four types of calligraphy brushes in different sizes. Each brush has been carefully selected for its smooth and comfortable writing experience. We invite you to try them for yourself!

【Gyokaiyo (行楷用)】

Neither too firm nor too soft, this brush has just the right amount of elasticity and excellent tip control, making it very comfortable to write with.

The total brush length is approximately 28 cm, with a bristle length of approximately 4.5 cm.

【Gyosoyo】

This small calligraphy brush is made with wolf hair (weasel hair). It is neither too firm nor too soft, with just the right amount of elasticity, allowing for smooth and rhythmic brushwork.

The total brush length is approximately 21 cm, and the bristle length is approximately 2 cm.

【NyoI】

This is a mixed-hair calligraphy brush (兼毫筆) with just the right amount of elasticity, neither too firm nor too soft. The tip holds together well, making it easy and comfortable to write with.

The total brush length is approximately 24 cm, and the bristle length is approximately 3.5 cm.
